Heron Advisory, in partnership with Atlas RE, finalized on 27 June 2025 the sale to Bison Energy Group— a Japanese company operating globally in the renewable energy and energy storage sectors—of two BESS projects with a combined capacity of 1.2 GWh, located in Apulia and Sardinia.
The projects acquired by Bison Energy, Atlas Storage 11 (225 MW / 900 MWh) and Atlas Storage 15 (75 MW / 300 MWh), rank among the most significant utility-scale battery energy storage developments currently underway in Southern Italy. Both initiatives have been structured in line with national and regional permitting frameworks and are targeting Ready-to-Build status in Q3 2026.
The transaction aligns with Bison Energy’s broader international expansion strategy in the European storage market, as confirmed by the company’s recent public announcement, and reflects its continued commitment to investing in large-scale, high-capacity assets featuring advanced technological solutions.
For Heron and Atlas RE, the transaction marks an important milestone in the development of next-generation energy flexibility infrastructure and reinforces the strength of the co-development model pursued by the two partners across industrial-scale initiatives.
